The Old Market is screening a triple bill of movies starring Daniel Day-Lewis. There Will Be Blood (2007) is the third, in which the actor plays the unsympathetic Machiavellian oil tycoon Daniel Plainview and won his second Oscar. He based this portrayal on American film director John Huston, with the story telling how he struck black gold after receiving a tip-off from Paul Sunday (Paul Dano). Plainview connives to gain the trust of the people living on the land through scheming and false promises.
