Moving Meditation with Kim Lovelace

A Day of Inspirational Talks and Music

In a day of motivational talks by eminent speakers, health psychologist Dr Brian Marien (pictured above), Daily Telegraph columnist and mental health campaigner Bryony Gordon (pictured above) and mindfulness expert Dr Mark Williams (pictured below) will speak and then take questions from the audience. The title of the talk by Dr Marien is Psychological Wellbeing: Medicine’s Blind Spot, and will draw on the latest research from neuroscience, medicine, cognitive, behavioural and social psychology to highlight some of the main factors that have been shown to influence our physical and mental health. Ms Gordon’s talk is titled Why It’s Normal To Feel Weird and shares her story about coping with OCD and depression. The talk by Dr Williams is called Mindfulness and Psychological Science, focussing on how mindfulness has a long history in ancient wisdom traditions and also finds support from modern psychological science. The event is compered by leading international criminal barrister Gillian Higgins, a meditation teacher, and there will also be music and a short talk called The Journey to Wholeness is Afoot! by the Dr Guy Hayward and Will Parsons of the British Pilgrimage Trust, a charity dedicated to re-establishing the tradition of pilgrimage in Britain.
